No This is a discount eyewear and eye care program. There are no claim forms or reimbursement procedures. The participating retail optical locations will give you the discount at the time of the purchase.
Do the retail locations mark up the merchandise to give me the discount?
No you receive the discount because the plan brings the buying power of over 8 million members to the optical retailers participating with us.
Why does the discount vary from 20% - 60%?
Many variables go into the calculation of the discount such as market demographics, location, hours of operation, one-hour service capability and level of retail mark-up. Example - a chain provider in a major metropolitan mall, open seven days a week, 10 hours a day with an on-site lab, will more than likely have a different mark-up than an independent practitioner in a rural community. However, most times members will pay a comparable price for the exact same materials regardless of where the purchase is made. Only the percentage of discount off retail will vary.
Is the discount the same at different locations?
No. Discounts vary however, the price for the exact same pair of glasses at any of our locations should vary only slightly. The discounted price should be very close at each location.
Shouldn't I just wait for a sale and use the store coupons?
The discounted price for your eyewear will most times be less than the sale price. This is because the discounts are based on the wholesale price of the item and not a simple discount off of the retail price. Second, you are not limited to the selection of eyewear on "the bottom shelf". With the Network Care Card your discount will apply to all frames at the participating location!
How many times can I use my card?
There is no limit on the number of times you and your family can take advantage of the savings throughout the membership year.
Does this plan cover my family?
It covers you, your spouse and all your legal dependents including any dependent children living in the household.
What is a dispensing fee?
The dispensing fee is the amount of money that is added to the provider's wholesale acquisition cost of materials. It is generally the only profit made by the Provider on your purchase.
Are eye exams discounted?
Yes, at approximately 50% of our 11,000 locations nationwide. Member Service Representatives can tell you which locations discount eye exams in your area.
Do I have to use a participating eye doctor?
You may continue to use your exisiting eye doctor to acquire your prescription. You can then visit one of the participating retail locations to save dramatically on your eyewear purchases. While you may not save on your eye exam, the real savings are achieved on the eyewear.
Can I go any place that sells glasses to get the discount?
No you must go to an optical location that is contracted with Coast to Coast Vision to get your discount through the Network Care Card. Our providers include national, regional and local chains as well as thousands of independent professionals. To access the names of participating providers members can call the toll-free number 24 hours a day, seven days a week or view providers online.
When will I receive my membership card?
When you enroll online, your order is processed in 24 to 48 hours. Membership kits are produced and then mailed out in another 3 to 5 business days. Even though the kits are mailed first class, delivery time in the mail can take anywhere from 3 to 10 business days. It all depends on the U.S. Mail. Should you not receive your card, need to replace a lost card or if you want to find out the status of your card, simply call customer service at (800) 800-7616.
